Strong Pace and Valuable Lessons at Salzburgring

The second round of the F4 Central European Zone Championship at Salzburgring brought several positive steps forward for Viktor Snebjørn Poulsen. Following a period focused on improving stability and consistency, the weekend showed clear signs of progress throughout testing, qualifying and racing.

Viktor demonstrated promising pace from the very first test sessions. His speed lived up to the expectations, while both consistency and race pace proved to be key strengths throughout the weekend. With a solid foundation in place, the objective heading into qualifying was to find the final tenths of a second and take another step forward.

Qualifying started very positively, with Viktor running among the fastest drivers in the first half of the session. However, a red flag interrupted the momentum, and in the attempt to find additional pace after the restart, the approach became too ambitious, resulting in the loss of several positions in the field.

In the first race of the weekend, Viktor finished in 17th place. The approach was slightly too cautious, which ultimately cost valuable time behind a slower car and affected the final result.

For Race 2, the strategy was adjusted, and Viktor adopted a more aggressive approach from the start. This resulted in a stronger overall performance and a 15th-place finish. While the results did not fully reflect the pace shown earlier in the weekend, they highlighted the positive progress and increased consistency in performance.

Salzburgring also presented significant challenges for the drivers, with the final sector proving particularly difficult. Viktor spent more time than expected finding the optimal approach through this section, but the experience provided valuable lessons that can be carried forward into future race weekends.

The third and final race of the weekend was never held. Shortly before the start, a severe local thunderstorm hit Salzburgring, and after more than an hour of waiting, race control decided to cancel the race for safety reasons.

The focus now shifts to the third round of the F4 CEZ Championship at Slovakia Ring on June 5–7, where the team will look to build on the positive signs from Salzburgring and continue its progress on track.
